Today I watched 'The Breakfast Club', this helped my understanding of stereotypical conventions in a teen angst film. The plot line of this film is that 5 teenagers are in a Saturday detention, all of these teens are from different backgrounds and have very different stereotypes.
We see the stereotypical perfect girl, the jock, the bad guy, the nerd and the emo. However, the morale of the film is to show that stereotypes doesn't matter as they all end up being friends.
The setting of this film is very stereotypical for a teen angst film as it is a school, more specifically a library where the detention is being held.
